In 1919, a young Greek immigrant came to the United States seeking the promise of a new land. While at Ellis Island he was told of great opportunity in a northern port city by the name of Superior, Wisconsin. Upon arrival he began working for the local railroads, but always had the dream of owning his own business. Within 10 years he was able to save enough to open a small cafe serving homestyle meals to the working people in the surrounding community. Elias loannis Letsos (or Grandpa Louie as he came to be known) dream of serving quality food has become a Northland Family tradition in the Twin Ports for over 50 years!
